A lot of great things have come out of Detroit, Michigan: the first “state fair,” the American automobile industry, music from Motown to Jack White… and now fashion! As is well-documented, the city has experienced highs and lows, yet in the last decade many residents, artists, and local companies who have stood behind this great city are making it stronger and better than ever.

Committed to “the making of things that are made well” and defining “American luxury through American quality,” Shinola has developed a series of hand-crafted goods and located in the heart of Detroit, the company transformed a 30,000 square foot raw space into a modern watch factory that combines advanced technology and hand-assembly. In addition, they built out a 12,000 square foot leather factory in which they utilize Italian machinery and labor-intensive traditional methods to produce wallets, bags, and (of course!) watch straps. And at their flagship retail store, high-end bicycles are built one at a time in precise, custom-level assembly.

Stop in to see meet the local Abbot Kinney team who are friendly, inviting, and enthusiastic about the products … then go home with either a beautiful watch, new backpack, and perhaps even a bicycle—all of which are the ultimate Venice accessories!
