School’s Out… Now What?
For most families, school’s out for the holiday break. So what to do with the kids? For parents looking for an alternative to big-ticket days at Disneyland, we’ve got a list of great things to do, many of which are free!
December 19 & 20
Head over to the Ivy Substation this weekend where the Actor’s Gang Afterschool Program features “The State Family Holiday Party,” featuring a cast of 22 4th and 5th grade students from Culver City schools in this 45-minute play.
Learn about birds on this family field-trip beach walk starting at 10:30am with the LA & Santa Monica Bay Audubon Societies at the Annenberg Community Beach House.
Price: Free, but RSVP required.
The main branch of the Santa Monica Library is hosting events for young kids starting each day at 2pm. Includes movies, story time and crafts.

Need to work off some energy with the kids? Head to ICE at Santa Monica on the corner of 5th Street and Arizona. The ice skating rink is even open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

Now until March 20th
Head to the Annenberg Space for Photography in Century City for a polar expedition through a live cam experience from the Arctic. Guests can spend time inside immersive experience booths with live cam screens featuring sights and sounds of the polar bear migration.
