Kim Gordon has worked with some of the biggest interior decorators in Los Angeles, including Kerry Joyce and Mary MacDonald. But when it comes to putting her own mark on homes, Gordon focuses less on high glitz and more on spaces that evoke big emotions. “This is about inside-out design. Homes need to bring out emotions for the people who live in them,” says Gordon, who has recently completed this 3,000-square-foot, four-bedroom Belgian farmhouse-inspired home on Nowita Place. Soaring windows capture lots of light, while strategically placed elements such as a dramatic, nautilus-inspired curving staircase, maintain privacy. Just a much detail has gone into the outdoor spaces, which include a beautifully landscaped front garden area with a fire pit and a rooftop deck.
